Job Summary
Working out of our Barrie, ON Distribution Centre, the Order Picker's responsibility is to accurately and quickly service our customers while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in the industry. The Order Picker will operate forklift equipment, pick orders using RF scanning equipment and be prepared to meet any challenge. Provide utmost accuracy while delivering high-quality products to our Customers all over the continent while adhering to all C-TPAT requirements.
Hours of Work: 12-Hour Continental Day Shift (TBD - 2 positions available)
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift optimally and safely; maintain equipment and report malfunctions
- Receiving of stock transfers, POs, and RMA
- Pick and prepare for shipment customer order(s) as required, with pristine Accuracy, in a timely manner using an RF picking procedure
- Tape, carton, stretch wrap all orders for shipping
- Load/unload trailers and containers as assigned
- Receive and put away all incoming goods in the correct bin locations using RF technology
- Perform regular cycle Counts for accurate inventory
- Assist with inventory preparation and cycle counts
- Process courier orders using existing software
- Transfer inventory for re-stocking bin location, stock replenishment as needed
- Re-package and label cartons with bar codes as the need arises
- Maintain a strict housekeeping standard in accordance with 5S protocols
- Report unsafe work conditions/environment in a timely manner
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Completion of high school or college diploma or equivalent work experience in distribution and/or logistics
- Class G Driver License considered an asset
- Possession of a valid counterbalance forklift certification is considered an asset
- Experience operating various forklift equipment (order picker, Raymond reach, counterbalance) considered an asset
- Incumbent will be required to successfully complete a security background check
- Experience with RF technology preferred
- Able to work Overtime occasionally
- Confident working at heights of 20 feet while picking orders
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to meet daily deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment where assignments and work priorities are reviewed several times a day
- Ability to work well in a team and independently at times
Working conditions
- Ongoing requirement of physical activities
- Work involves both routine and non-routine tasks within well-defined standards
- Warehouse associates need to be prepared and equipped to perform in varying work conditions; Warehouse is a semi-climate controlled facility
- The incumbent must follow the rules in place as described in the Employee Handbook
- The incumbent understands, respects, and adheres to the workplace health and safety rules and regulations
