Our lab and the University of Montreal are fully committed to maintaining and promoting a safe and inclusive environment that values people of all backgrounds, beliefs and experiences.
About Us:
Yves Brun’s lab is based in the Department of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, and Immunology of the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal. We work on understanding the mechanisms of bacterial growth and their adhesion to surfaces, using a variety of approaches from genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, microscopy, etc. We also use this expertise to develop new approaches for antibacterial drug discovery in collaboration with academic and industry partners.
About the Project:
This 4-year, $21 million project funded by the Canada Biomedical Research Fund and the Biosciences Research Infrastructure Fund is a Pan-Canadian cutting-edge initiative aimed at combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in bacterial pathogens. We are building a robotically integrated, AI-assisted platform to enable swift and decisive action against emerging bacterial threats. This infrastructure will leverage our AI partners' research leadership and the strong track record of the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) Drug Discovery Unit (DDU) at Université de Montréal. The equipment will be integrated into existing core facilities, enhancing our capability to combat antimicrobial resistance.
