Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist on Duty. The Pharmacy Assistant performs technical duties, including data entry and preliminary filling of prescriptions. They must employ a high degree of direct patient contact, which is crucial in developing a positive patient experience. The Provincial Regulatory Body limits duties that the Pharmacy Assistants are authorized to perform.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess excellent internal and external customer service skills and strong attention to detail; basic pharmacy knowledge would be an asset. Applicants should be self-reliant, goal-oriented, and be able to set and adjust priorities and schedules.
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal record check as apart of the recruitment process
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
- Proficient data entry skills; experience with Microsoft Office is an asset
