We have an opportunity for a Data Analyst role to join our Engineering Team.
As a Data Analyst, your role is crucial in helping PressReader transform data into valuable insights to improve operational efficiency, better customer insights, and enhance strategic planning. If you are ready to embrace the challenge, this is an excellent opportunity for you.
In this role, you will:
- Perform ad-hoc analyses of PressReader's business across various domains including sales, piracy prevention, product development, business, and marketing
- Design and build PowerBI reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Become a domain expert on PressReader's operational and analytics data
- Contribute to the documentation of key data sources and data products
- Work with the data team to design analytics and other data management solutions
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to gather analysis and reporting requirements and share results
- Be a champion of data quality to ensure accuracy and consistency and work closely with cross-functional teams
You are a great fit if you have:
- At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in data analysis, ideally focusing on e-commerce and customer data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Curiosity, creativity, and initiative in solving both technical and organizational problems
- Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge
- Demonstrable experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau
- Strong sense of collaboration with the team and ability to work independently
- A proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- A strong work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job
Bonus points if you:
- Have a Bachelor's degree or diploma in fields such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a related field
- Have experience with dbt
- Have experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Clickhouse, BigQuery, Snowflake and other database technologies
- Have experience in the media or publishing space
- Have curiosity about using AI tools in data analysis
- Have a strong interest in the technology sector

PressReader is committed to providing a fair compensation package that includes a 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision benefit plan; 15 paid vacation days to start; health and wellness days and bereavement days; reimbursements for professional training and membership in professional associations; fitness subsidy and more, along with a chance to be working with amazing people. The pay range for this role is $90,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.
