This role offers you the chance to take charge of our social media presence across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X, crafting innovative content strategies and creating the most engaging food and drink content for Toronto’s leading food media agency.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage the day-to-day planning and execution of organic content strategy on our social channels (@tastetoronto, @tastemediaHQ), including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X, but not limited to these platforms.
- Take ownership of all social posting and presence, offering new directions and plans for growth on these platforms.
- Create original content daily, including engaging reels, TikTok videos, and stories, highlighting new visits, dishes, and posts.
- Plan and schedule content in advance, ensuring all edits and consults are completed promptly for timely and efficient posting.
- Monitor mentions, comments, and messages, responding promptly to inquiries and engagements while fostering meaningful interactions with followers.
- Cultivate brand advocacy and loyalty by building relationships with influencers, brand ambassadors, and community stakeholders.
- Leverage historical and current website content to develop social media content concepts and manage the weekly newsletter’s content and distribution.
- Assist in coordinating and shooting content for paid partnerships.
- Pitch new concepts to stay ahead of social trends, researching market trends, consumer trends, competitors, and new tools and technologies for content creation.
- Ensure content aligns with our brand identity, including audio choices, brand voice, and tone in captions and copy.
- Represent the company at restaurant openings, relevant industry events, and assist with content creation during significant activations, food festivals, or pop-up events.
- Lead communication with participating vendors for content execution.
- Prepare regular reports and performance metrics to communicate content results and insights, applying key learnings to optimize future strategies.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience managing social media accounts, particularly in the food and drink industry.
- Strong content creation skills, including photography and video editing, with a focus on creating innovative and fresh content.
- Ability to create engaging, high-quality content daily that aligns with current social media trends and our brand identity.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, including scheduling content in advance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with followers and build relationships with influencers.
- Creative mindset with the ability to pitch and execute new content ideas that excite the team and align with our brand.
- Experience with social media tools and analytics to monitor and report on performance.
- Passion for the food and drink scene, with a keen eye for detail and trends.
- Proactive in taking ownership of TikTok and suggesting new plans and directions for the platform.
