Building Poppy & Peonies has been an incredible adventure. It all started when my daughter Poppy was born, and I found that my accessories no longer fit my new life as a mom. I needed bags with pockets and organization that looked cool but also had functionality. When I couldn’t find them, I decided to create them myself. And so, in 2015, Poppy & Peonies was born.
We’ve come a long way since then—from filling orders in my basement to appearing on Dragons’ Den, and now, expanding into new product categories and collaborating with exciting influencers and brands. We believe in our responsibility to care for the environment and are passionate about preserving the health and welfare of our planet and the animals that live on it. That’s why all of our bags are made from high-quality vegan leather, and our entire product line is vegan, cruelty-free, and PETA-approved. We ship our products plastic-free and use a combination of recycled, compostable, and biodegradable materials to mitigate shipping waste. We are constantly looking for new ways to make our products and supply chain more sustainable, reducing our carbon footprint.
About The Role
As our Social Media Lead, you are both a strategist and a content producer. You’ll be responsible for developing comprehensive social media campaigns that drive engagement and brand awareness. From conceptualizing campaigns and trending content ideas to producing captivating visuals and copy, you will leverage your creative flair and analytical mindset to curate an authentic and compelling brand presence online.

The Opportunity
- Developing the strategy for our social media platforms that reflects our overall goals and objectives while staying on top of new trends.
- Managing, creating, and coordinating our content (photo and video) on our social media platforms - producing and curating a feed that highlights our products and brand.
- Being an active collaborator at our photoshoots.
- Diving deep into the analytics and metrics to further understand our social outreach.
- Providing reports with compelling and insightful insights and recommendations.
- Collaborating on our overall brand and creative direction for all creative projects alongside our marketing agency and designers.
- Looking after our community on our social media platforms, ensuring our audience and customers are heard and taken care of.
- Ensuring the brand’s voice is communicated throughout all our digital activities, with a focus on social media.
- Managing our influencer marketing initiatives and outreach to grow our community.
- Overseeing our marketing administration, from our marketing calendar to vendor management.
What You Bring To The Table
- You have experience managing and executing social media campaigns in the DTC space.
- You have been both the strategist and the executor in a social media role.
- You create engaging content that both inspires and converts customers.
- You stay up-to-date on trends across all social platforms.
- You are a strategic thinker who makes data-informed decisions.
- You use marketing analytic tools to report on performance and craft insights.
- You have strong communication skills and can resolve or de-escalate challenging customer issues.
- You’re a collaborative team player who can brainstorm with others.
- You’re flexible and can adapt to changing priorities on the go.

Location
- We are a fully remote team across North America.
- Due to the nature of the opportunity, elements of this role will require a mixture of remote and in-person work. There may be occasional domestic or international travel in the future for photoshoots, events, and team retreats.
Compensation And Total Rewards
- Annual Salary ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 CAD
- 3 weeks of paid vacation per year
- 5 additional flex days

- $250 CAD annual period & menstrual budget
- $1,000 CAD annual allowance towards Poppy & Peonies product
- $400 CAD home office setup allowance
