Victor Energy Ltd is a powerline contractor with over 20 years' experience building Alberta's electrical infrastructure, recently acquired by Java Holdings Ltd. Java staff have over 50 years of experience building some of Canada's largest electrical infrastructure projects. We are seeking a Project Assistant to provide organizational and administration support to our project execution team. This position is construction site-based on a shift schedule.
Your responsibilities include:
- Support the project management and construction execution teams, coordinating with internal and external parties at construction site and in the head office
- Use of approved systems in alignment with company expectations
- Provide administrative support in various areas which include but are not limited to:
- Suppliers - create and review purchase orders, invoices and backup
- Timesheets - review of timesheets and submit for approval and payroll processing
- Travel - book and coordinate all transportation and accommodation of personnel
- Technology - coordinate with Employee Engagement, IT and Systems teams to support crew needs
- Meeting support - prepare agendas, document minutes, and distribute actions
- Project Document Control - perform project document control procedures as directed including, but not limited to, data entry, records filing, transmittals and related document distribution
- Reporting - gather and summarize progress updates for internal and external audiences
- General support for crew including expense reports, fuel cards etc
- General project support as required such as landowner communications, as well as client and third party communications as directed
Requirements
Your background and credentials must include:
- Post secondary certificate or diploma related to business, construction or administration, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years' experience in providing administrative support
- Experience in working in a construction office at site
- Experience working in the utility sector
