Worley is currently seeking Steamfitter/Pipefitters to lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
This position may be located in our module yards or on one of our field projects in Western Canada.
Wage:
Starting wage is $44.61 and may be negotiated depending on project location and experience.
Main Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping systems by measuring, cutting, threading, grinding and bending of pipes, valves, and fittings.
- Read and interpret drawings, blue prints and specifications to determine layout requirements.
- Assemble and install pipes, valves and fittings according to blue prints and job specifications.
- Plan and conduct pressure tests as required by code and or specifications.
- Calculate weights of materials and or spools to ensure proper equipment is used.
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines.
- Identify piping materials by grade and or description.
- Utilize oxy/acetylene hand torches, grinders, and Bevellers in an efficient and safe manner.
- Recognize spool hoisting points and utilize proper rigging techniques and signals.
- Cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system.
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system.
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specific Knowledge:
- The ability to read and understand complex instructions.
- Knowledge of material grades, wall thickness, fitting ratings, and pipe diameters.
Industry Specific Experience:
- An understanding of safe work practices and the knowledge to safely operate the tools of the trade.
- Able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
- Must have a secondary school diploma.
- Must hold a Journeyperson ticket or hold a valid recognized credential from a recognized provincial training authority.
- Must have 4+ years industrial pipefitting experience.
