Worley is currently seeking Ironworkers to fabricate, construct, and join scaffolding, pre-cast structures, erect structural steel components, reinforce steel and reconstructive work on existing structures.
This position may be located in our module yards or on one of our field projects in Western Canada.
Wage:
Starting wage is $38.56 and may be negotiated depending on project location and experience.
Main Responsibilities:
- Fabricates and erects structural steel and pre-cast structures on a variety of projects.
- Studies blueprints, drawing and specifications to determine the layout of work.
- Position steel units, align holes and insert temporary bolts while checking alignments and joining steel parts using simple torque and hand wrenches.
- Attach cables from a crane and direct crane operators with hand signals and or radio.
- Unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed.
- Know, understand, and operate grinders safely in accordance with safe work practices and procedures.
- Ability to recognize spool hoisting point and utilize proper rigging techniques and signals while working in a fast-paced environment.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specific Knowledge:
- The ability to interpret blueprints.
- Ability to work around cranes and forklifts frequently.
Industry Specific Experience:
- An understanding of safe work practices and the knowledge to safely operate the tools of the trade.
- Able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Able to work at heights.
MandatoryTraining Requirements:
- CSTS 2020 Fundamentals.
- WHMIS 2015.
- ESC Fall protection.
- ESC Elevated Work Platform.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
- Must have completed secondary school.
- Must hold a Journeyperson ticket or hold a valid recognized credential from a recognized provincial training authority.
- Must have 4+ years industrial ironworking experience.
