Carte is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Industrial Engineering Specialist to join our team. If this sounds like your ideal opportunity, we want to hear from you. The IE Specialist is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks associated with the efficient set up and ongoing operation of a transformer manufacturing facility and its equipment. The position is responsible for specifying and developing manufacturing processes and equipment selection, using up-to-date techniques and technologies along with providing ongoing support to all manufacturing departments.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Ensure manufacturing processes, industrial engineering projects, new process introduction, and cost-reduction programs are in accordance with current company objectives.
- Identify areas for improvement of manufacturing processes, efficiencies, operational capacity, energy saving, safety, and environmental systems.
- Ensure environmental standards and procedures and safety requirements are being followed.
- Support and stay active in Lean Manufacturing efforts and philosophy at Carte.
- Support the Carte quality program.
- Other duties may be assigned by management from time-to-time.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL NEED:
- High level of mechanical or electrical knowledge and ability.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility, managing a multitude of technical projects.
- Experience in 3D CAD modeling of equipment and parts is considered a definite asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in any of Mechanical/Industrial, Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred, and must have the ability to be registered with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba as EIT or P.Eng. or Mechanical Technologist certificate from a recognized technical institution is preferred, however equivalent experience combined with mechanical aptitude and a background in electrical/electronic equipment will be considered.
- A commitment to quality, results, and a thorough approach to deliverables.
- Industrial manufacturing experience and knowledge of manufacturing equipment such as CNC machines.
- Robotic and automation experience in an industrial facility.
- Welding experience in an industrial facility is an asset.
SKILLS:
- High mechanical or electrical aptitude with exceptional attention-to-detail.
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills, professional ethics, be highly organized, have efficient planning, have great direction and communication skills.
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Analytical individual with great problem-solving, research & troubleshooting skills.
- Use of codes and standards such as CSA, AWS, etc.
- Knowledgeable in PLC / Programming / Understand and interpret PLC Ladder Diagrams.
