The Venture Strategist will be a key player in shaping the future of Compass Group and the food retail industry by researching and analyzing market and technology trends. This role involves identifying innovative startups addressing significant problems with robust founding teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can derive insights from business data, collaborate with various stakeholders, and adapt to multiple roles.

- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth research to understand the challenges and opportunities within the Compass business ecosystem.
- Strategic Thesis Development:
- Formulate investment theses and pinpoint opportunity areas for Compass Digital Ventures.
- Concentrate on significant trends in the startup ecosystem relevant to the food retail industry.
- Startup Sourcing: Identify and assess promising startup opportunities for feasibility and viability.
- Brand Communication: Support external brand communication and thought leadership initiatives to influence the future of food retail.
- Pilot Program Management:
- Collaborate closely with startup founders and business stakeholders to scope, implement, and evaluate the success of pilot programs.
- Work alongside project management teams.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Lead pilot initiatives, present findings to stakeholders, and navigate corporate environments effectively.
- Be prepared to wear multiple hats and venture into new areas with an entrepreneurial spirit
