SYSTEMS ENGINEER
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Systems Engineer role is highly competent and capable in addressing and resolving complex technical issues that are escalated from Level 1 to Level 3 Support. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting advanced hardware and software problems, ensuring that end user compute devices, systems, and networks run smoothly. With a strong customer focus, you will work across both IT and business stakeholders, you will deliver high-quality customer service across users working from home, office and offshore.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN AND MANAGE
- Install and manage Windows Servers, Laptops, Desktops and printers to meet user requirements.
- Provide initial technical support to end user's day-to-day office equipment and software needs via phone and email
- Maintain systems integrity and security by performing regular IT Infrastructure updates and patches
- Adopt Automation and Infrastructure as Code whenever possible to streamline and optimise Infrastructure workload
- Undertake projects to improve the operation and security of PointsBet’s systems.
- Manage and deploy new and retiring end of life hardware and software as per the guidelines of the Standard Operating Environment.
- Manage, monitor, and administer Azure cloud services, including VM's, storage, networking, security etc
- Hands on configuration and troubleshooting of hardware like firewalls, switches and wireless infrastructure is an advantage
- Developing high level and low-level design documentation
SKILLS WE SEEK
- Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
- Must have 4-6 years' experience with Azure Administration, Windows Server Administration and Networking Administration
- Hands-on experience with Office 365, including Exchange, OneDrive, and Active Directory
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software (eg. Jira, ServiceNow)
- Understanding of Virtual Desktop environments (eg. Azure VD, VMware Horizon)
- Scripting and automation knowledge (eg. PowerShell, Python)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Work management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with cloud cost management tools and practices.
Problem Solving:
- Analytical mindset with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills for incident comms and collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
Good to have:
- Networking and scripting skills
