Analyst, Quality Assurance is responsible for accurate execution of tests for digital solutions being implemented and preparation of testing artifacts in alignment with best practices and OH Quality Assurance standards. This includes conducting a variety of tests to assess the quality and efficacy of a range of applications in preparation of deployment and through operations.
Here Is What You Will Be Doing
- Creates testing plan, test scenarios, and data for testing in coordination with QA Lead or more senior QA team member.
- Writes and executes test cases.
- Documents results and provides updates to project teams and Management as requested.
- Accountable for the accurate execution of tests for digital solutions being implemented and preparation of testing artifacts in alignment with best practices and OH Quality Assurance standards.
- Conducts a variety of tests to assess the quality and efficacy of a range of applications in preparation of deployment and through operations.
- Ensures the best user experiences possible.
- Accountable for the quality of the components of the products and services that are tested for customers.
- Recommends changes within the team's quality assurance and testing practices to improve product quality.
- Documents improvements to the existing onboarding processes for new QA team members.
- works with a low to medium level of autonomy within a defined project/solution/system scope based on direction from Manager or QA Lead.
- Collaborates with internal peers to ensure alignment of practices, patterns and solutions.
- Stays abreast of evolving technology, architecture, and design, patterns, practices, and platforms.
Here Is What You Will Need To Be Successful
Education and Experience
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of various Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC) and methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, Iterative, etc.
- Knowledge of quality assurance/testing processes and tools.
- Knowledge of how User Stories, Business Requirements Definition (BRD), Data Models, data mappings and design are used to support QA testing.
- Knowledge of test case design, development, and execution.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills to ensure the accurate execution of tests for digital solutions; assess the quality and efficacy of a range of applications; recommend changes to improve product quality.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to communicate testing strategy; discuss and incorporate stakeholder’s feedback; communicate issues found during testing clearly.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to work as a team member within a product/project team interacting with other technical professionals such as Project Managers, Business Analysts, Business Leads, Development and IT.
- Ability to understand and apply concepts.
- Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on responding to change rather than following the plan.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to motivate other team members to achieve higher goals and improve the impact of technology initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate opportunistic innovative ideas with internal and external partners.
